Dot painting, explained
Dot painting is a calm creative technique where you fill printed circles on a canvas using acrylic dot markers. Unlike traditional paint by numbers there are no brushes, no water and no colour mixing.
You choose the marker colour, and each dot dries with a subtle raised texture that builds into gallery-quality wall art, a finished look flat paint cannot achieve.

Printed on 280gsm premium canvas with a smooth finish. The dot circles print in light grey to guide you precisely, then disappear under the marker ink so only your artwork shows.
Sizes from 30×40 cm to 80×120 cm, larger canvases hold more detail.
Double-tipped, water-based acrylic markers made for dot work. A fine tip for detail and a broader tip for filling, so you control every dot. They dry in seconds, are low-odour, and leave a subtly raised, lightfast dot.

Our framed option arrives ready stretched over a solid wooden frame, nothing to assemble. The canvas is fitted and aligned for a clean, gallery-style finish. Place it on the wall and enjoy.

No skill is needed. Every circle on the canvas guides you, place the dot, move to the next. If you can hold a pen, you can create a beautiful finished piece.
When you order, you select the marker colour you want and that is the colour you receive. There is no colour coding on the canvas, the creative choice is yours, so two people can order the same design and make completely different art.
Water-based acrylic ink with dual tips for precision and control. They are non-toxic, low-odour and quick-drying, and hold their colour over time. Each dot sits slightly raised, giving a subtle three-dimensional texture flat paint cannot achieve.
Kits come in 30×40, 40×50, 40×60, 50×50, 60×80, 80×80, 80×100 and 80×120 cm. Larger canvases include more circles and finer detail for a more striking result. For most people 40×50 cm is the ideal starting size.
Most kits take between 2 and 20 hours depending on size and your pace, and are designed to be completed over several calm sessions. Cap your marker and continue whenever you like.
It depends on the option you choose. The framed version comes ready stretched over a solid wooden frame, ready to hang. You can also choose an unframed rolled canvas or a DIY frame option.
Each kit includes enough ink to complete your canvas with a safety margin. In the rare case you run out, you can order extra pens from our accessories and continue without interruption.
